In the early hours of this morning, we received a fax from musician/explorer Charles Vaughan offering explanation as to the delay in releasing Pylon Reveries, one of the many collections of music from Charles’ private tape archive. We feel this only thickens the mystery. Message reads:
*Reason for delay: master tapes damaged by damp (difficult to avoid down here). Have been drying them out in an abandoned glass house, nearby. Been there a good while now, should hopefully be dry now. Will forward as soon as possible*
This video was meant to be published a while back. Stay tuned for further announcements.
It was a great pleasure for us as epic45 to be asked to soundtrack this charity video produced by Simon Christopher, for the London based homeless charity, The Passage. A re-edited version of ‘The Future Is Blinding’ was used from ‘In All The Empty Houses’, in this powerful and uplifting short film. It premiered last week at the Royal Festival Hall in London in front of a 3000 strong sell-out crowd . Congratulations to Simon on producing this brilliant film, and for asking us to be involved.
A few weeks ago Rob and Ben (epic45) were invited to contribute solo tracks to a compilation curated by Nicky Edwards from the Vivid Noise blog. This compilation is now online here to stream or download for free. Rob offers up a brand new track under his Field Harmonics guise and Ben provided a beautiful reworking of the My Autumn Empire track, ‘The Approach Of The City’.
In anticipation of the forthcoming EP on W&W from Component#4, we are delighted to share these remixes of current artists on the label produced by Mike Rowley (AKA Component#4). More details on his EP in the coming weeks.
Earlier this monthWeathered received a limited advance release via Norman Records, our favourite independent retailer. It’s now available on our Bandcamp store for £6. Expect to see it in shops any time now.
The companion volume to epic45’s Weathering album (Sunday Times Album of the Week, July 2011) sees the Staffordshire duo invite labelmates and contemporaries to literally weather the recordings they made for that record.
Contributing artists include The Remote Viewer, The Gentleman Losers, Fieldhead, E.L. Heath, Jasper TX and Sarah Kemp of Lanterns on the Lake/ The Declining Winter.
